Eggman complains that Sonic always interferes with his plans responds that Sonic would always be determined to put a stop to his evil plans. Meanwhile, Decoe tells Doctor Eggman that the doors of the base have been closed and locked. The Ring powers up Sonic who then destroys the robots with ease before making his way to Eggman's control room. This leaves Amy terrified but Tails wants to save Sonic and he shoots a missile revealing a Ring towards Sonic's direction. As they are flying past the base defenses, they start shooting at the plane which results in the plane being shot before going up in flames. Miles "Tails" Prower and Amy Rose arrive on the scene in the Tornado 2 to try to help Sonic. However, whilst in the air, Sonic gets punched by a E-12 Behemoth, which sends him flying. Just then, an alarm is heard going off at a nearby tower switching on its lights. Sonic the Hedgehog runs towards the base whilst robots and the base defenses roll along the base preparing to arm themselves. The defenses begin shooting their bullets and missiles at Sonic but the hedgehog proves too fast for them to hit. As Sonic speeds closer to the base, some E-12 Behemoth robots activate and chase Sonic around. In an attempt to outrun them, Sonic runs past a spring which activates, launching Sonic into the air. The episode starts out in a forest at night time, as it shows Big the Cat and his pet frog named Froggy sleeping. "Gotta Go Fast" (shortened) - Closing theme." Landing in a swimming pool, Sonic is unable to get out and almost drowns, but is saved by a boy who was woken by the splash. He flies off the end of the road and over the suburbs where the S Team can't follow. However, Sonic also increases his speed, breaking the sound barrier and outpacing Sam once again. This prompts Sam Speed to use his "super nitro", which allows him to accelerate past Sonic. Sonic evades the S Team without difficulty, finding time to taunt them and even run backwards. Sonic runs off, followed by Sam Speed and the S Team. He introduces himself as "Highwest" and says that despite the lengthy introduction, things will be fast from now on.
Sam Speed arrives and explains to Sonic that the city is too peaceful, and he has apprehended only one criminal in the last year.
Sitting on a streetlight on Route 1015, Sonic ponders whether he has time-travelled or arrived in a parallel world, noting that the night sky looks the same. The whole base is enveloped in a brilliant white light, which Knuckles remarks is a product of " Chaos Control", before he, Tails and Amy disappear too. The machine is damaged during the fight, and begins to spark, then glow. Eggman hurriedly puts the Emerald in a machine while a robot starts shooting at Sonic. Meanwhile, Eggman gloats to a captive Cream that the Chaos Emerald in his possession will make his Mecha unbeatable, but is interrupted by Sonic breaking through a door. Knuckles, watching the carnage from afar, comments that it's "too much". Tails and Amy arrive in the Tornado to give Sonic a Ring, which he absorbs and uses the energy to destroy Eggman's defences and break through a window in the tower.
